YMCA Community Gallery Showcases Student Art in August

Art sales benefit Visual Art programs.

Young artists in the North Suburban YMCA’s Visual Arts Program will receive special recognition in the Y’s Community Gallery exhibition for the month of August. Over 30 pieces of original artwork will be on display in the Y’s public areas, including paintings, drawings, ceramics, and other media. Each piece will be offered for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Visual Arts Program.

The YMCA offers a wide variety of art classes for children, teens, and adults. In addition to general exploratory classes, the Y offers advanced technique programs, unique interdisciplinary options, and cutting edge technology in its new Digital Media Lab. All classes are offered in the Y’s art studios, 2705 Techny Road in Northbrook.

“Our August exhibit really reflects the diversity of artistic opportunities here at the Y,” notes Tegwen Conzemius, Community Gallery Coordinator. “We hope guests will enjoy the show and be inspired to check out all the new class offerings for the fall.”
