YMCA Gymnastics Team Qualifies 10 State Gymnasts; 3 Regional Gymnasts.
Through positive learning-based curriculum and coaching practices, the Y's Competitive Gymnastics Program helps athletes grow and succeed.

The North Suburban YMCA's Gymnastics Team closed out its 2022 season at the Illinois XCEL State Championship meet in Waukegan, Illinois on April 8-10, 2022. All ten gymnasts on the team qualified to compete in the State meet, and 3 of them qualified for the XCEL Regional Meet.
The team shined bright by winning numerous medals, and gymnasts Madelyn Elbaum, Victoria Arzumanov, and Chloe Nyren all qualified for the Region 5 Championship. In addition, Caitlin Sheedy was 7th overall in the state on beam, and Madelyn Elbaum was 6th overall in the state on vault and floor, and 7th all around in the state.
Throughout the 2021-22 season, the gymnasts placed in many competitions and the Platinum team has taken home one 1st Place Team award, and one 3rd Place Team award. The Silver team has taken home two 3rd Place Team awards.

"It's so exciting to see our gymnasts competing against all the great talent at the state meet level," noted Shannon Parry, NSYMCA Senior Director of Arts & Risk Management and head gymnastics coach. "Our team rose to the occasion and represented our Y very well. We're proud of everything they’ve accomplished this year and we’re looking forward to their continued growth next season."
The North Suburban YMCA offers gymnastics for preschool, recreational, and competitive gymnastics instruction with the opportunity to participate in statewide competitions as part of the NSYMCA team.
