1 Killed, 3 Wounded In Avondale Shootout
A fight ended in a shootout at a gas station, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A man was killed and three other people were seriously wounded in a shootout early Tuesday on the Northwest Side. The shootout happened around 2:44 a.m. at the Shell gas station in the 3000 block of West Belmont Avenue in Avondale, according to police. Seven people were involved in the shootings, police said.
One man and two women arrived in a Honda Accord and two men and two women in a Nissan Pathfinder.
The two groups broke into a fight at the gas station, police said. One of the men was punched in the face and two people pulled out handguns and opened fire, according to police.

Three men, ages 20, 25 and 37 were each shot several times, and a 24-year-old woman was shot in the neck, police said.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The 37-year-old man was taken to the same hospital and listed in serious condition. The 20-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were taken to Stroger Hospital where both were listed in critical condition.

Two handguns were found on the ground at the gas station, along with several shell casings, according to police.
One of the women who wasn't injured was taken into custody for questioning. Private and city surveillance video will be reviewed, police said.
