Consulting Company Uses New Technology to Run Online Food Drive Competition
Team members at Slalom Consulting, a company that brings together business and technology expertise to assist companies in driving enterprise performance, accelerating innovation, enhancing customer experience, and increasing employee productivity have paired up with YouGiveGoods this month in support of The Greater Chicago Food Depository, a terrific organization that provides food support to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year.
Slalom strongly believes in giving back to the community and assisting those who are in need. They recognize that one in six Americans is food insecure, including one in four children. In response to these startling statistics, Slalom plans to raise as much food as they can for The Greater Chicago Food Depository in recognition of the United Nations World Food Day on October 16, 2012.
Slalom’s Chicago Office divided itself into nineteen teams that are facing off in friendly competition to see which team can raise the most food. Slalom is using YouGiveGoods online food drive contest system so the teams can track how they are doing in real time on the contest’s Leaderboard.
“Our company thrives on collaboration and leveraging technology,” according to Stacey McDonough, the organizer of Slalom’s food drive initiative. “Most of our teams are on location with clients. The YouGiveGoods contest system is a great way for us to pull everyone together for our collective effort to help the hungry. The site is easy to use and the Leaderboard’s real time results have heightened everyone’s interest in our cause.”
