Baby Born After Mom Killed in Christmas Eve Hit-and-Run
The newborn is recovering after emergency personnel saved his life.

CHICAGO, IL - Emergency personnel delivered a baby boy Thursday night after his mother was struck by an SUV and killed in the city’s North Lawndale neighborhood.
Karla Y. Leanos, 26, was struck by a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene after she was crossing the street on foot in the 4200 block of West Ogden around 10 p.m., according to CBS-Chicago. The pregnant woman was pronounced dead shortly after at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Her son was delivered by emergency personnel and had been in stable condition as of Friday morning.
A person of interest is in custody.
