
Drink alcohol, eat tacos. For many a late-night reveler, a night at the bars is often followed by a run for the border and an order of Taco Bell’s faux Mexican fare.
Wicker Park, however, may soon host the first Taco Bell in the United States to intentionally combine booze and burritos under one roof. Chicago Eater reports that a Taco Bell franchisee has applied for a liquor license for the new location at 1439 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Earlier this year, people speculated the new Wicker Park outlet would be a U.S. Taco, Taco Bell’s upscale concept, designed to compete with the neighborhood’s various Mexican offerings. But, no, the franchisee will operate a regular Taco Bell, albeit one with a “new urban design,” says Eater. And alcoholic beverages.
