Man, 28, Fatally Hit By CTA Blue Line Train After Jumping Onto Tracks
UPDATED: The accident happened late Wednesday morning near the Addison station.

CHICAGO, IL — A 28-year-old man was fatally struck by a train on CTA's Blue Line on Wednesday after he jumped onto the tracks near Addison station on the Northwest Side, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Blue Line service was stopped for hours Wednesday afternoon between the Jefferson Park and California stations after the incident. Service has since resumed, although major delays on the Blue Line continue, according to CTA.
The accident occurred at about 11:50 a.m. near the Addison station, the Tribune reports. As a train approached, the man leaped off the platform and onto the tracks, the report stated.

Emergency crews found the man unresponsive when they arrived, and police said he was pronounced dead at the scene, the report added.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the man.
