For a limited time, the U.S. Department of Energy, local utilities and non-profits are working together to provide energy efficiency grants to individual homeowners. The program is called Energy ImpACT Illinois (EI2) and is part of the Retrofit Chicago program. These grants are available to single-family and 2 - 4 unit homeowners in the Chicagoland area. Under this program, you can save 70% - up to $1,750 - off the most cost-effective and permanent energy efficiency improvements: air-sealing and insulation for your home.
