When I used to teach MACBETH there was always a student who raised his hand and said: "this is boring." Boring? How many heads had to roll, queens had to kill themselves and others, witches had to cast spells before this kid was less bored? The truth is, life is amazing and interesting and filled with pathos and humor but you have to find the words and the voice to capture that quality. Writing anything, a college admission essay, a novel, a note to your beloved requires attention to detail, a paucity of filler and that you are sincere and honest.
