Man Shot By Accomplice In Attempted Home Invasion On North Side
A suspect shot his accomplice in the head, police said.

CHICAGO, IL — A suspect was killed by his accomplice in a home invasion Tuesday night, police said. The shooting happened on the Northwest Side, in the 2400-block of West Eastwood Ave, according to officials. The two suspects encountered several family members as they tried to break into the home, police said.
The encounter prompted one of the suspects to fire shots at the porch, police said. His accomplice, 43-year-old Luis Morales, was struck in the head, according to officials.
Morales, of the 10500 block of West Grand Avenue in Melrose Park, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

None of the family members were injured in the incident. Police said the shooter ran away, and was tracked by K-9 officers; however he was not in custody as of Wednesday morning.
