'Empire' Actor Arrested On Domestic Battery Charge

Morocco Omari is accused of pushing a woman to the ground several times during an argument Wednesday in Hyde Park.

CHICAGO, IL — One of the stars from the Fox show "Empire," which films in Chicago, is accused of repeatedly pushing a woman and injuring her during an argument Wednesday on the South Side. Morocco Omari, 46, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, the Chicago Tribune reports. He appeared in court Thursday and was released on his own recognizance, the report added.

On Wednesday, April 5, police responded to a call of a dispute between Omari and a woman, 24, who said she was his girlfriend, the report stated. The woman accused Omari of shoving her to the ground several times, resulting in scratches on her chest and neck, the report added.
