Shakespeare in Hamlin Park

Hamlin Park Advisory Council and Chicago Park District, in association with OrchideaOrganic.com, present The Traveling Players’ production of As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, in Hamlin Park, August 17th-25th.

A pastoral comedy of love at first sight, deception, and redemption, As You Like It includes some of Shakespeare’s most comedic and memorable characters such as the melancholy Jaques who famously laments the fact  that, “All the world’s a stage,” the lovelorn shepherd Silvius, and the witty gender-bending Rosalind.

The Traveling Players are a family-friendly theater company intent on making Shakespeare's comedies accessible by presenting them in a relaxed outdoor setting and carefully cutting them to run in the kid-friendly time frame of about an hour.

Bring a blanket and enjoy one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies!
