String Of Burglaries Reported On North Side

Police have issued a community alert warning that burglars are targeting homes during daytime hours while people are at work.

CHICAGO, IL — Residents in North Center, Lake View and Lincoln Park are being warned of a string of recent burglaries in the neighborhoods. Nine burglaries were reported between April 11 and April 30, police said. Suspects are forcing open rear doors or windows — often while victims are at work, police warned in a community alert.

The burglaries happened in the following locations:

• 2700 block of North Wilton on April 11 around 6 p.m.
• 2900 block of North Seminary on April 11 between 7:45 a.m. – 7:45 p.m.
• 800 block of West Wrightwood on April 17 between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• 800 block of West Oakdale on April 18 between 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• 800 block of West Altgeld on April 18 between 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
• 500 block of West Deming on April 20 at around 11:45 a.m.
• 2700 block of North Mildred on April 23 from 8:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
• 400 block of West Diversey between April 28 – April 29.
• 800 block of West Wolfram on April 30 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

No one was in custody.
