Taxi Driver Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman On North Side

A taxi driver who lives in the city's North Center neighborhood allegedly attacked a woman on the Lakefront.

CHICAGO, IL — A taxi driver faces felony charges after an alleged sexual assault on the city's lakefront near Boystown, police said. A woman said the driver attacked her in his taxi early Sunday. He then drove away with her property, police said.

The woman, 26, said he sexually assaulted her in the taxi around 6:55 a.m. in the 3800 block of North Recreation Drive, north of Belmont Harbor.

Mustafa Dikbas, 36, of the 2400 block of West Grace Street in North Center, was arrested Tuesday, police said. He is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, attempted aggravated criminal sexual assault, kidnapping and theft, police said.

Dikbas was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.
