Thieves Stealing Tires, Rims From Vehicles In North Center

Thefts have been reported throughout the Ravenswood, Lincoln Square and North Center neighborhoods.

CHICAGO, IL — Police sent a community alert to North Side residents warning of tire and rim thefts. About eight vehicles were targeted throughout late January and early February. Police said most of the thefts happened overnight, and in most cases the vehicles were left resting on cinder blocks.

Here are the locations and dates of the thefts:

  • 4300 block of North Bell between Jan. 22 and Jan 23
  • 2200 block of West Cullom at about 5 a.m. Jan. 29
  • 2400 block of West Wilson between Feb. 1 and Feb. 2
  • 2600 block of West Sunnyside between Feb. 5 and Feb. 7
  • 1900 block of West Sunnyside between Feb. 6 and Feb. 7
  • 4300 block of North Oakley between Feb. 6 and Feb. 7
  • 4700 block of North Hermitage between Feb. 8 and Feb. 9
  • 4600 block of North Paulina between Feb. 8 and Feb. 9
