Multi-Car Pileup On I-294 Sends 3 To Hospital Near Oak Brook

OAK BROOK, IL — Three people were rushed to the hospital after a five-vehicle pileup crash that took place on southbound I-294 near milepost 32 in Oak Brook Friday morning. Police say one person sustained serious injuries and two other people were taken for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The accident initially closed all lanes, but the scene was cleared as of 1:30 p.m., according to IDOT.

The crash was reportedly caused after a semi rear-ended a car, leading to what police called a chain reaction in which three other cars crashed. State Police said the accident is under investigation.
