Amazon Could Take Over McDonald's Old Digs In Oak Brook
Amazon may consider moving into the space McDonald's occupies in Oak Brook once the fast food giant moves to Chicago in 2018.

OAK BROOK, IL — If Amazon comes to Illinois, it could end up at the old McDonald's digs in Oak Brook now that McDonald's is set to occupy ones in Chicago's West Loop. Oak Brook officials are pitching the space as a perfect location for Amazon's second headquarters.
But the fast-food giant biting?
The company is "interested," Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Valentina Tomov told the Chicago Tribune.

Oak Brook plans to do everything it can to lure Amazon —and 50,000 new jobs— to the village. Village President Gopal Lalmalani told the Tribune the village offers a "perfect situation for Amazon to come here" and that becoming home to the online giant's second headquarters would be an economic boon for Oak Brook.
The village is currently working on a bid for Amazon, but competition is stiff. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has already reached out to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos in the hopes of landing the internet retailer's second location. Currently, Amazon has a small office in Chicago and just opened one of its first brick-and-mortar bookstore in the city's Lakeview neighborhood.

Tomov seems undaunted by talk of Chicago landing Amazon's second headquarters. Noting the ample green space at McDonald's headquarters, Tomov told Chicago Tribune, "I don't see much of a competition around us."
