Cell Phone Service In Oak Brook Could Improve With New Tower
The village board will decide soon whether to approve the construction of a new cell tower on Oak Brook Road.

OAK BROOK, IL - Cell phone service in Oak Brook for users of the four major providers could improve drastically if members of the village board approve the installation of a new cell tower. A new tower is proposed to be built 30 feet to the north of the existing one outside the Butler Government Center, according to a report from The Doings Oak Brook. Already recommended for approval, the construction is only awaiting a special use approval by the village board that is slated to come Tuesday night.
The new tower is planned to be 120 feet and will replace the existing structure on Oak Brook Road that is slated for removal.
"We definitely expect this new tower to improve cell phone service in Oak Brook," Jim Fox, information technology director in Oak Brook, said.
