Comcast To Lay Off 200 Employees In Oak Brook, Move Roles Out Of State

Comcast will lay off 200 inbound sales employees in Oak Brook Oct. 30 and plans to move some customer service staff to Woodridge.

OAK BROOK, IL — Some 200 sales employees are expected to be laid off when Comcast moves its Oak Brook inbound sales division at the end of October. More than 150 additional customer service employees will also be moved from the Oak Brook location to an office in Woodridge.

Comcast plans to add inbound sales roles to other locations in its central division, according to the Chicago Tribune. Inbound sales employees who are laid off will have the opportunity to apply for these out-of-state positions or other roles. Jack Segal, a spokesperson for Comcast, told Chicago Tribune that their aim is to "help as many employees as possible transition into other positions in the company."

The Oak Brook Comcast layoffs will be in effect October 30.
