The company is celebrating the venerated holiday by making free soft-serve ice cream cones available through the McDonald's App and randomly selecting a customer to receive those miraculously delicious soft serve cones for life.

To get your hands on a free McDonald's soft-serve cone, just download the McDonald's mobile app. Customers who have the app will receive a voucher for a free ice cream cone, but they have to act fast. The voucher is only valid on National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, June 16.

Of the thousands of people slurping free cones on Sunday, just one lucky soul will receive a once-in-a-lifetime Golden Arches Cone that grants them the greatest gift of all: free McDonald's soft-serve ice cream cones for life. For a chance at this edible motherlode, customers have to redeem their vanilla cone vouchers between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. local time. McDonald's will award the lifetime of treats via a gift card for $312 and a check for $4,680.
