McDonald's Serves Up A Side Of Comedy With Big Mac Onesie

McDelivery Collection is McDonald's newest branding trick. Order McDelivery on July 26 to get adult onesies and other swag in select cities.

OAK BROOK, IL — When you're really in love with something, it's easy to wear your heart on your sleeve. If you're really in love with Big Macs, though, you can wear them on your whole entire body. Wednesday, July 26, is McDelivery Day, and McDonald's has unleashed its limited-release fashion line to celebrate the occasion. To get your hands on — or your bod in— an adult onesie emblazoned with juicy big Macs, all you have to do is place a McDelivery order and wait for the fast food and fashion gods to do their magic.

Trust me when I say that you will be the talk of the town when you don these duds. I know, because I did. And I was. McDonald's sent me a Big Mac onesie ahead of McDelivery Day, and photos of it had my social media accounts sizzling. "I had to see this to believe it." "You are a lucky lady." "Does it come with a Chicken McNugget toiletry case?" Sadly, it didn't, but the Big Mac onesie was pretty good quality as far as adult onesies go, and it's definitely an attention getter.

Made with cozy, heavy sweatshirt material, the onesie zips in front and is pretty ideal for lounging around snacking on whatever McDelivery items you've ordered. McDonald's did, however, send me a size small/medium, which was not enough to accommodate the curves I developed from eating McDonald's in my 20s. That's really my only concern. You get full when you eat McDonald's, and you want to make sure you have a onesie with a little bit of give.

If you order McDelivery, you can also get some other McDelivery items, including a pair of sandals that says "World Famous" to top off your look.

McDelivery Collection is yet another way McDonald's has been pulling out all the stops this year to stay relevant in a fast food market that favors companies like Sonic and Wendy's. So far, McDonald's revamped its uniforms, introduced a french fry fork, or "frork," and made a historic partnership with UberEats that allows customers throughout the world to enjoy the magic of the golden arches without leaving the house.

The absurdly over-the-top comedy of the company's recent rebranding efforts is typified in the Big Mac onesie. It's an attention grabber that defies reason. It's a fashion statement that's almost impossible to believe anyone would make. Just like most of McDonald's branding moves of late and over the past six decades, I'm sure customers are going to...eat it up.
