Pink 5K To Fight Breast Cancer In Oak Brook

The Pink 5K will help give 40 free mammograms to 40 women over 40.

OAK BROOK, IL — Last year, the Oak Brook Park District's Pink 5K raised more than $11,000 to help fight breast cancer. This year, the organizers are hoping to exceed that goal and give even more to benefit the Open Arms Breast Cancer Outreach Fund, Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. The race is slated for May 12 at 8 a.m. and part of the funds will be used to provide 40 free mammograms for 40 women who are over 40 years old.

The race/walk will wind through the Oak Brook Park District's Central Park and kicks off from the Central Park West facility, according to the Pink 5K event page.

Participants can get Oak Brook Pink 5K registration forms online or by stopping at the Oak Brook Park District office, 1450 Forest Gate Road. Completed registration forms can be mailed in to the Park District or dropped off at the Park District Office. Registration fees are as follows:

  • $35 from April 8 to May 11 at 4 p.m.
  • $40 on May 12 (race day)
