Robbers Sneak Up Behind Man, Hit Him On Head, Take Phone: Oak Park Police

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park Police are looking for two suspects who robbed a man in the 600 block of South Austin Thursday. Police say the men struck the victim on the head before taking his cellphone.

The incident took place between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. when the victim was walking northbound on the sidewalk along Austin Avenue. He told police the men came up behind him and hit him on the head. The victim and offenders began fighting before the suspects took the victim's cellphone. The total loss is estimated at $80.
