1 Dead in 'Domestic Disturbance' Shooting in Oak Forest Driveway

The victim was found lying unresponsive in a driveway.

OAK FOREST, IL — A person was shot and killed Sunday morning in Oak Forest, police said Monday. Officers who responded to a report of shots fired at around 9:25 a.m. Sunday found a male gunshot victim lying unresponsive in a driveway in the 6600 block of 157th Street, according to a statement issued by Oak Forest Police Chief Tim Kristin. The victim was taken to South Suburban Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said Monday that the shooting happened during a "domestic disturbance between family members," and a person of interest was taken into custody. Oak Forest police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the shooting, police said.
