163rd Street from 94th Avenue to LaGrange Road to be Closed for Weeks

Drivers be advised — 163rd Street between LaGrange Road and 94th Avenue in Orland Park will close Friday, Sept. 26, for a few weeks as a part of the ongoing widening and reconstruction project on LaGrange Road in Orland Park, Palos Park, Orland Hills and Tinley Park, according to IDOT.

The closure is necessary for the reconstruction of the 163rd Street intersection with LaGrange Road. 163rd Street will reopen to traffic, weather permitting, in mid-October. Drivers should follow the posted detours on 94th Avenue and 159th Street or 167th Street and LaGrange Road

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
