3 Oak Forest Businesses Fail Underage Alcohol Sale Checks

The checks are part of a statewide effort to curb illegal sales.

Three Oak Forest businesses were cited this month for selling alcohol to minors during a joint compliance operation conducted by the Oak Forest Police and the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

The compliance efforts checked on 19 businesses in city limits. None of the locations visited had previously failed an underage compliance check within the last five years.

  • Cindy’s Pub, 5230 W. 159th St.
  • Circle K, 5600 W. 159th St.
  • Oak Forest Bowl, 15240 S. Cicero Ave.

The checks are completed by teams that randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under 21 years old. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.

Sixteen businesses were found to be in compliance.
