Acorn Public Library Pairs Up with Panera for Story Time

Construction has made space a little cramped at Acorn Public Library; staff have chosen a back-up location for story time.

Story time, cookies and milk — and Panera might have mixed up the perfect combination.

With an and some areas closed off from patrons, story time has gotten a little crowded, said Youth Services Director Jen Van Sickle. Staff decided to seek out more story time space at the closest Panera, located at 15845 S. Harlem Avenue.

"People really like Panera, and people really like story time," Van Sickle said. "It's a good idea because we're short on space."

The special story time will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. Attendance will be drop-in, with no advance registration required, Van Sickle said. It is free to all, and Panera will provide a cookie and milk for each child. The morning will feature live readings of stories and sing-a-longs.
