All About the Fun at Bremen Township
Seniors enjoy lunch, singing and Chinese Mahjong at Bremen Township.
If you want to join a party, Bremen Township seniors know how to throw one. Singing Rockin Around the Christmas Tree to That’s Amore, spunky singer Kym Frankovelgia get’s the crowd on their feet. Well almost.
“She’s great, she lifts everyone’s spirits,“ said Sue Ernst, the site coordinator for Bremen Township Senior Café. When Ernst began her position over 2 years ago , seniors had lunch three days a week. Then former Maggie Crotty became Bremen Township Supervisor and helped grow the lunch program to 5 days a week.
“The lunches are served through a program called Age Options,” explains Ernst. Lunches consist from lasagna to baked fish. “Any senior aged sixty and over are welcome to come, no matter where you live,” said Ernst.

Monday through Thursdays lunch is held at the Bremen Township Senior Café, on Friday lunch is served at the Senior building following Bingo, which starts at 9 a.m.
Wednesday Bremen Township Senior Café is hopping fun as the seniors play the Chinese game of Mahjong. You can stay for lunch. “Reservations are appreciated a week in advance for lunch,” added Ernst. There is Senior transportation as well.

“We also have senior trips. The lunches and trips gives them a chance to get out at a reasonable cost without traveling too far,” Ernst said. “Getting out of the house and being with people their own age means a lot to them.”
