Man Barricades Himself Inside Car, Dolton Residents Asked To Avoid Area Of 'Active Incident': Village

DOLTON, IL — A man wanted in connection with a domestic incident has barricaded himself inside a vehicle in Dolton, the Village of Dolton said.

According to the Village, police were responding to an "active situation" involving a man who fired a gun during a domestic incident.

The man has barricaded himself inside a vehicle in the rear of the 14800 block of Wabash Avenue and is refusing to leave, officials said.

SWAT was called to the scene. Residents nearby are asked to avoid the area and "remain indoors if nearby as a precaution."

"Specialized units, including SWAT, are on scene actively working to bring the situation to a safe resolution," the village wrote in its alert.

The situation is ongoing, with no update as of 11:50 a.m.
