OAK FOREST, IL — The community is invited to celebrate Independence Day a week early, with the Oak Forest Veterans Commission Independence Day celebration and fireworks show at Gaelic Park Saturday, June 27.
The event opens at 6 p.m. at the venue, 6119 W. 147th St. Live performances from Joe Cantafio and Freebyrd as well as local food trucks add to the festivities.
Cantafio has toured with some of the biggest names in music history on the biggest stages in the world. Cantafio plays rock and roll classics.
Freebyrd performs all the Lynyrd Skynyrd hits you know and love.
No outside food or drink allowed. Food and drink will be available for purchase from local food trucks on-site, including Kona Ice, Jack Frost, Bofill's BBQ, Cooper's Bar and Grill, and Joey's Hot Dogs. Other vendors include Mark Odewald Caricatures and Sisters Concrete Creations. Military vehicles will also be on display.
A fireworks show caps off the night at 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 per vehicle. Tickets must be purchased online ahead of the event. There will be no in-person tickets available on the day of the event. All vehicles must arrive by 8 p.m. to be admitted.
