SOUTH SUBURBAN COLLEGE ACCEPTING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2019-20

South Suburban College Accepting Scholarship Applications for Academic Year 2019-20

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL–The South Suburban College Foundation (SSCF) 2019-20 Scholarship Books and Applications are now available in the Financial Aid Office (2355) and online at www.ssc.edu/scholarships. A wide range of scholarships are offered based on a variety of qualifications such as academic achievement, community involvement, place of residence, program interest, and much more. Last year the SSCF awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to students of all ages and backgrounds and has now awarded over $2 million since 1989.

The primary SSC scholarship application deadline is Friday, April 5th while graduating high school seniors can continue to apply for the high school specific scholarships through June 30, 2019. All of the scholarship awards may be used during the 2019 summer, fall and spring 2020 spring semesters at SSC.

The application process is a simple one that only requires a completed scholarship application, one letter of recommendation, a short essay, and a copy of the applicant’s high school or (unofficial) college transcripts. Applications can be submitted in person, via email to foundation@ssc.edu or through the online application portal from www.ssc.edu/scholarships. Scholarship recipients are selected by the SSCF Scholarship Committee in April with a formal awards ceremony to be held at SSC on May 7, 2019.

Applicants should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as part of the application process to increase opportunities for funding assistance; visit www.fafsa.gov using school code 001769.
