Bailey's Bar and Grill Opens at Former Mrs. O'Brien's Spot

Bailey's Bar and Grill, a popular spot in Tinley Park, opens a second location on Cicero Avenue in Oak Forest.

OAK FOREST, IL - The Cicero Avenue bar scene in Oak Forest is back to full staff after Bailey’s Bar and Grill opened last month at the location formerly occupied by Mrs. O’Brien’s Pub.

What’s more, is that Bailey’s has already begun to serve food while Mrs. O’Brien’s - which also went by just “O’Brien’s” - did not.

“We really wanted to bring the kitchen back to this location and all our food is homemade,” said Tamir Bailey, owner of both the new Bailey’s in Oak Forest and the one that has operating for the last eight years on Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park. Bailey said she heard from several local residents who have expressed excitement that food will be returning to the location.

She says her plan has been to expand over the last couple of years and chose the Oak Forest location at 15548 S. Cicero Ave. “while driving by.” “Cicero Avenue there is really becoming a happening place,” she said.

“About four years ago there were some vacant storefronts and places that were closed and sad looking, but now there has been so many new places going up. We are really excited about being here.”

Construction on the new place was completed just before it opened on Feb. 18. The result is a newer space, more televisions, new commercial appliances and what amounts to “a really, nice, cozy sports bar,” Bailey said.

Mouthwatering cheeseburgers have also been a popular option for patrons of the new Bailey's Bar and Grill in Oak Forest. Photo provided.

“You can see a TV clearly from any angle in the bar,” she added.

Also, there are five gaming machines in the bar. All penny slots.

What remains from Mrs. O’Briens are the lovely photos of Ireland grazing the walls.

“The pictures are still there,” Bailey said.

Bailey’s offers specials on a regular basis. On Mondays is is $2.50 hand packed food. It’s $1 tacos every Tuesday and $.50 wings on Thursdays. Fridays offer an all you can eat fish fry and domestic buckets ate $12 from Sunday through Thursday.

More TV sets and newer appliances are just some of the improvements Bailey's has made since opening on Cicero Avenue in February. Photo provided.
