Bail Set at $1 Million for Suspect in Oak Forest Shooting
The Chicago man shot another man at a Cook County Forest Preserve soccer field near 147th and Ridgeland in Oak Forest on Sunday.

Bail was set Friday at $1 million for a Chicago man charged in a shooting at an Oak Forest forest preserve Sunday.
Luis Gonzalez, 33, of the 5500 block of South Kolin, faces charges of one count of aggravated battery with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and vehicular invasion, CBS reports.
About 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, Cook County Sheriff’s Police detectives were notified of a shooting that took place at a Cook County Forest Preserve soccer field near 147th Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Oak Forest.

It was reported that about 2,000 people attended a soccer match there. According to the Sheriff’s Police investigation, at the conclusion of the game a man fired a gun and injured a 47-year-old Harvey man. The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.
The shooter attempted to flee in another person’s vehicle, but was apprehended by Oak Forest Police who arrived to assist the Cook County Forest Preserve Police on scene.

His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 25 in Bridgeview.
