Boys' Volleyball to be Added to Athletic Offerings at Bremen and Tinley Park High Schools

The sport will be offered for the 2017-18 school year

In recent months, the Bremen High School District 228 Board of Education has been discussing the possibility of adding Boys’ Volleyball to athletic choices in its schools. Until now, the only school that offered the sport was Oak Forest High School.

In 2012, the Board of Education passed a resolution not to expand athletics or activities due to difficult financial times. At its December 20, 2016, after much discussion, the Board voted to abolish that same resolution and review requests for additional activities or athletics on a case by case basis.

Superintendent Kendall is happy to announce that District 228 will be adding Boys’ Volleyball at both Bremen and Tinley Park High Schools for the 2017-18 school year. At this time, Hillcrest High School did not demonstrate any interest in Boys’ Volleyball and none of their feeder schools have programs. Interest in the program at Hillcrest will be monitored in the upcoming year.
