Bremen HS Annual Food Drive Underway
Berkot's Midlothian is a major supporter of the Bremen HS food drive

The 2017 Bremen High School Food Drive, sponsored by the Student Council and the National Honor Society, is officially under way! The drive will be held from Monday, November 27 through Friday, December 8. During the first week of the drive, Bremen students will place paper grocery bags on residents’ porches. Instructions and a Berkot’s coupon will be attached to the bag. The donations will be placed outside during the second week of the drive, when they will be picked up by Bremen students. Mr. Art Magana, Manager of Berkot’s Midlothian is a major supporter of the BHS Food Drive! Berkot’s donates all of the bags, serves as an alternate drop-off site and also prepared pre-packaged donation bags available for purchase in $5 and $10 increments. During the 2016-17 school year, now senior, Elijah Trella made a presentation about the Bremen Food Drive at the national conference of the NHS in Washington, D.C. The food drive last year produced over 13,000 pounds of non-perishable donations. This year, the students have set a goal of 15,660 pounds, which will be a school record. All donations will be distributed through local food pantries in the Midlothian area. Residents should keep an eye out for the paper bag on their front porch next week to help Bremen students serve the needy in our local community.
