Bremen HS Athletic Leadership Council Participates in 'Believe in You' Leadership Conference

Program helps students develop leadership skills

Twenty-five members of the Braves Athletic Leadership Council participated the Believe in You Leadership Conference presented by Herff-Jones at Bremen High School. The Herff Jones Believe in You Motivation Program creates an environment where students are empowered to change their world through choice and action by providing hands-on, engaging and interactive resources and partnerships that build character, develop leadership, improve graduation rates, increase participation and recognize achievement. The program is designed to help students develop their leadership skills through a series of simple activities that aren’t as easy as they look.

“There was a lot of discovery throughout the day as the student-athletes encouraged each other to step outside of their individual comfort zones and take risks to not only improve their teams, but to also improve themselves individually. The students did a great job! It was a lot of fun being able to see them grow throughout the experience! Our hope is that these leadership skills will transfer into their lives and that they will be able to share their skills with their teammates. By the end of the day, the goal was to help train and equip these student leaders with ideas and tools that help them to help create a climate of achievement and success at Bremen. We celebrate their success and reiterate that we believe in them. This was a great experience for all involved!” said Bremen High School Athletic Director Eric Washington.

Bremen student-athletes that attended the conference were Faith Alredj, Jamie Bazan, John Betts, Stephon Broaden, Maria Cazares, Noelle Ciemny, Brittany Condon, Corey Conner, Nate Cordova, Tyler DeYong, Staci Fitcht, Veronica Garcia, Gabbie Gruzius, Dave Handing, Keon Hayes, Arielle Lewis, Brittany Lira, Chrisean Noble, Josh Rooney, Erin Schaffrath, Javier Soto, Emilio Valdez, Abbie Wick and Matt Woods.
