Bremen HS Business Tech Students Put Their Skills to the Test
Students wrote professional letters to their favorite person
Bremen High School Business Technology students are kicking their research and writing skills into high gear this month in their Microcomputer Interdisciplinary Applications class. Students were learning how to format and write business letters and were challenged to find a business address to a celebrity, athlete, or someone they look up to. After finding the address, they utilized their newly learned skills to write the person a professional letter. “It’s one thing to teach formatting and tell the students that one day they will need the skills but it is another thing to allow them to utilize the skills immediately,” said business teacher Mrs. Amber Guzak. After pairing up with another student in the class, the students peer edited the letters (including grammar, formatting, and checking the address) before getting them in the mail. The students are hoping to receive responses from their favorite person.
