Bremen HS Celebrates College Application Month

This annual event is sponsored by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission

Bremen High School recently participated in its 3rd Illinois College Application Month (ICAM), an annual event sponsored by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). Bremen High School elected to participate in the event that was held throughout the State of Illinois during the month of October. During the Illinois College Application Month seniors received hands-on assistance from four counselors, the Project Manager, a counselor intern, and admissions counselors from South Suburban College. The goal was for each student to successfully begin at least one college admission application during the event. Through the ICAM program, 100% of the graduating seniors met with counselors during a College Application Workshop and began a college application. In addition, the PPS department will recognize students who have submitted a first college acceptance letter. Each Wednesday, the Counselor Pride Team congratulates and rewards students with a customized candy bar and picture with our counseling staff. “This is an exciting event that allows our seniors from Bremen High School to take the next step in pursuing their postsecondary plans!” said BHS Guidance Counselor Ms. Kristine Bonebrake. Additional information about the Illinois College Application Month program can be found online at www.collegechangeseverything.org/appmonth.
