Bremen HS Chess Team Competes at State Tournament

The Chess Team finished in the top 10 in their State division!

Bremen High School is proud to announce that the 2017 Chess team finished the state tournament by improving their overall state ranking by 20 positions, finishing in the top 10 in their state division! The team consists of sophomores: Alyssa Ceballos, Julia Cuthbert, Amner Diaz, Andy Esparza, Alan Mendez, Junior Daniel Aceves, and seniors: Lenny Feil, Tyler Gramm, Christian Mercado and Richie Rhein. BHS Principal Dr. Kibelkis said, “I am very proud of our chess team, the team continues to grow each year. Mr. Carlsen does a great job of increasing numbers and creating excitement for his team! I really enjoyed the State parade sendoff through the school led by our Drum-line prior to the team leaving for the state tournament. The drumline always creates excitement for our entire school!
