Bremen HS Code of the Braves Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House

Students prepared meals for Ronald McDonald House families

While many students spent their summer days relaxing and enjoying the heat, there were several Bremen Braves that took time from their summer vacation to volunteer their time at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Maywood, IL. The Code of the Braves, Bremen’s Character Education Program, spent a day at the Ronald McDonald House near Loyola University Medical Center. The Code of the Braves students were in charge of shopping, preparing, cooking, and serving a meal to families that were staying at the house.

Families that stay at the RMH have a pediatric loved one in a nearby hospital. The goal of the RMH is to give parents and caregivers a place close to their loved ones to rest, relax, have a home-cooked meal, meet other families and find the emotional support they need to focus 100% on their child that is in the hospital.
