Bremen HS Cross Country Teams Participate in Nike Challenge
Race was held at Northerly Island in Chicago
Bremen High School’s Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country Teams recently participated in the Northside/Southside Nike Challenge at Northerly Island in Chicago. This was the first race to be hosted at this new site on the lake front. All athletes were provided with gear donated from Nike, including a uniform, shoes, and socks. Each team also had an elite runner to represent their team. Southside was represented by elite runner Matthew Centrowitz. Centrowitz is an American Track and Field athlete who specializes in the 1500 meter. He holds a bronze and silver medal in the 1500 meter from the 2011 & 2013 World Championships and finished 4th in the 2012 summer Olympics.
