Bremen HS Financial Aid Night
Parents and students were offered assistance with the FAFSA application and given information on scholarship opportunities
Bremen High School recently hosted its annual Financial Aid Night. Each year this event is held prior to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) becoming available for the upcoming school year. During the presentation, students and parents are given an overview of the financial aid process, shown where to go to apply for a FSA ID and how to access the FAFSA application, and given additional resources to access scholarships. This year the Bremen counseling staff once again teamed up with Mr. Eric Ruiz, University of St. Francis’ Director of Admissions, to provide the financial aid presentation in English and Spanish. “The partnership with Mr. Ruiz has been very beneficial to Bremen High School. Over the past few years, working with Mr. Ruiz has allowed us to better support our Hispanic students and their families,” said BHS counselor Anna Rauch. This year there were over 165 individuals present between the two presentations. As a follow up to Financial Aid Night, Bremen hosted a FAFSA Completion event during parent teacher conferences last week. Parents and students were able to stop in the IMC and work on their FAFSA application. A representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) was also present to assist students and parents. The financial aid night presentation can be accessed from the Bremen homepage by selecting Student Services and then Parent Programs.
