Bremen HS Freshmen Continue Tradition of Dressing Up As Greek Mythology Figures
Study of love gods of Greek Mythology ends with students dressing up as their favorite deity

In a decade long tradition, Bremen High School’s Freshmen Honors English students ended their study of love gods of Greek Mythology by dressing up as their favorite god or goddess (not so coincidentally) on Valentine’s Day! The students dress the part the entire day and parade around school in costumes. The students also make elaborate Valentine cards and write verses about their chosen Greek deity.
Teacher Mrs. Ava Evbuoma has been continuing this tradition at Bremen High school. “This is a fun hands-on learning experience; it’s so nice to see the students take pride in their costumes and their work in the unit. This is by far one of my favorite days of the year,” said Mrs. Evbuoma.
Freshmen student Abraham Vazquez dressed up as the Greek God Pygmalion. “We had a lot of fun with this unit. I chose Pygmalion because he is a legendary figure that stood out to me. Over all we had a great day celebrating the end of the unit.”
