Bremen HS Gears Up For Annual St. Baldrick's Fundraiser
'Brave the Shave' event to be held Friday, March 13, 2015

Bremen High School joins nearly 100 other local schools to participate in this year’s Chicago Area Schools Challenge! The Challenge brings local students, faculty and their communities together to raise funds for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer grants worldwide. Bremen will host a St. Baldrick’s Brave the Shave event on Friday, March 13, 2015.
The Chicago Schools Challenge began in 2007, with 19 schools participating and a total of 1,000 shavees, resulting in an impressive $300,000 raised for St. Baldrick’s. The event has grown enormously, with more than 95 schools and 5,000 volunteers braving the shave in 2014, resulting in more than $1.8 million raised. In total, the campaign has raised nearly $10 million for childhood cancer research.
“We are very excited to participate in this year’s challenge by hosting our very own St. Baldrick’s event,” said Assistant Principal Dr. Joe Simone. “It’s great to see how our students are coming together to support their peers who have to face the devastating diagnosis of cancer. This shows that every person can make a difference.”
