Bremen HS Honors November Students of the Month
Students are recognized for doing great things at BHS
Each month Bremen High School honors several students as student of the month. These students are recognized for doing great things at Bremen High School and/or in the community. The BHS students of the month for November are: Freshmen Katie Hartzheim, Sophomore Amner Diaz, Junior Jacqueline Orozco, and Senior Estefania Flores.
Freshmen Student of the Month Katie Hartzheim was nominated by Health and Physical Education Teacher Ms. Katie Kelley. According to Ms. Kelley, Katie was nominated for her hard work, effort and leadership both in and outside of the classroom. Katie comes to class everyday eager to learn and always has a positive attitude! Ms. Kelley states, “I’ve never seen a student as engaged and motivated to learn as Katie is! Katie initiates classroom discussions and really challenges her peers. She is thoughtful, reflective, and holds herself to high standards.”
English teacher Ms. Ava Evbuoma nominated the Sophomore Student of the Month, Amner Diaz. Amner is recognized as an astute young man with an eye toward a successful future. Amner volunteered this past summer assisting students in our Summer Academy. His presence alone made it a better place leading by example and assisting as a Student Aide each day. Teachers recognize his kind demeanor and high character. Amner is a great example of a student growing into a fine young man with Bremen Pride.
The Bremen High School November 2016 Junior Student of the Month is Jacqueline Orozco, nominated by English teacher Ms. Jennifer Dwyer. Jacqueline is known as an outstanding individual who dares to get out of her comfort zone and learn new skills. She goes above and beyond to make sure the classroom environment runs smoothly and effectively for the sake of both her teachers and peers. Ms. Dwyer states, “Jacqueline is truly one of a kind and deserves to be recognized. She is involved in many activities and athletics at BHS. She truly deserves to be the Student of the Month.”
Senior Student of the Month is Estefania Flores as nominated by History teacher and Theatre Club sponsor Mr. Andrew Rybarczyk and Principal Dr. Dave Kibelkis. According to the nominations submitted, Estefania has been an invaluable asset to the Theatre Group over the course of the last four years. She is always willing to assist in any way and provide great insight into making the plays better. Not only does Estefania excel during the play seasons but she excels in the classroom too. She is a straight A student that has challenged herself by taking a full schedule of Advance Placement classes her senior year. Estefania is the co-founder of the Anti-bullying Club and has helped organize BHS’ anti-bullying campaigns and activities over the last few years.
