Bremen HS Inducts Students Into French and Spanish National Honor Societies

Forty-three students were inducted into their respective NHS

Bremen High School's World Languages Department is proud to announce the induction of 43 well-deserving students into their first local chapters of the French National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. Founded in 1949 and 1953 by the American Association of Teachers of French and Spanish, this organization promotes the continued study of the students' chosen foreign language. Students inducted must be in their third or fourth year of high school study, and must have maintained a high average in their world language class, as well as their other classes. Upon induction to this honor society, students are expected to continue their language study until graduation from high school, complete service hours, and continue to earnestly promote the language.

French teacher Mrs. A.J. Chelepis and Spanish teacher Ms. Mayra Ortega spearheaded the organizations at Bremen High School to honor and recognize students who stay committed to learning a world language. Mrs. Chelepis said this regarding the first induction night, “It was a fantastic evening for both the students and parents! These kids are so devoted and passionate about language and culture, and you could see the pride in their smiles!” Officers will be elected next year, and the tradition shall continue with great pride at Bremen High School. "Félicitations" and "Félicitaciones" to our students!
