Charlie Bennett will attend an all-expense paid trip to the U.S Marines 4-day Battles Won Academy in Washington D.C. this summer

Bremen High School is extremely proud to announce one of their junior student athletes has been accepted into the 2018 Semper Fidelis All-American Program! 25,000 high school juniors from around the nation applied for this program and only ninety six were selected; Charlie Bennett of BHS was one of them! Charlie Bennett is a 3 year varsity football player, an all-area athlete as a junior, and is a two time all SSC Blue Conference selection athlete. He was also selected as a member of the academic all-state team this season as a junior. Bennett’s grade point average, leadership skills, community service, athletic achievements, as well as a personal reflection essay all went into his nomination. Bennett’s self-reflective essay was rated as the number one essay out of the Chicagoland area. BHS Head Football Coach Dan Stell nominated Charlie for this prestigious award.

“Charlie carries himself like a true champion in the classroom and on the football field at all times. Charlie is one of the most coachable, determined student/athletes I’ve have the opportunity to come in contact with. He is a gifted athlete, but more importantly, he is constantly striving to reach new heights. Charlie possesses an unmatched work-ethic, and constantly leads by example. Charlie’s quiet, yet determined demeanor is well-known, and respected, by everyone who has crosses his path. Charlie’s work ethic and mission to become one of the most gifted athletes to walk the halls of Bremen high school will prepare him for success after Bremen High School as well. ”

As part of the Semper Fidelis All-American Program, Bennett will choose a mentor to go on an all-expense paid trip to the U.S. Marines 4-day Battles Won Academy in Washington D.C. this summer. Bennett has chosen Coach Stell to join him this summer! Both Stell and Bennett will participate in daily workouts, an immersive Marine Corps experience, community service events, team building outings, and a tour of our Nation’s Capital. While there they will also have the opportunity to network with an elite circle of speakers from all walks of life and various industries. Finally, becoming a Semper Fidelis All-American will allow Charlie to be eligible for several scholarship opportunities only available to program participants.
