Bremen HS Names Teacher of the Year

Bremen High School and the graduating Class of 2015 is proud to announce the recipient of the 2015 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Michael Collins. Mr. Collins has been teaching science at Bremen High School for 14 years and is involved in the classroom and in the athletic department as the head golf and wrestling coach. Mr. Steven Granat, 228 Science Supervisor was beaming with excitement when he heard the news, “This is fantastic and well-deserved! BHS Teacher of the Year is voted on by the current graduating class and is not announced until the night of graduation. Mr. Collins humbly accepted his award and shared an inspirational poem by Edgar Guest with the graduating class. “There is no joy in easy sailing when skies are clear and blue, There is no joy in doing things which anyone can do, But there is some satisfaction which is mighty sweet to take, When you reach a destination you thought you could not make.” Sophomore Ricardo Rodriquez was happy to hear of the award, “Mr. Collins deserves this! He is the type of teacher that will teach it until you understand it. If you don’t get it the first time, he will come up with a different way to explain it until you do... He really is a great guy!”
