Bremen HS Science Standout Receives Scholarship
Brianna Ochoa receives full scholarship to Robert Morris University's Nursing program

It’s not every day that high school students receive scholarships in science class but for one lucky science standout student at Bremen High School it happened! Senior Brianna Ochoa took many science classes while at Bremen. With her science classes she visited universities, observed an open heart surgery, and had several presenters come in to speak about careers in the science field. Her culminating experiences within the Bremen Science Department left a lasting impression. After much discussion and mentoring throughout her four years, Brianna knew she wanted to go into nursing so one Bremen Science teacher made it his mission to help her decide on the next step. “Brianna is a good kid; she works hard and has a bright future ahead of her. I’ve had her in several science classes and knew this was the field for her. After having a representative from Robert Morris University’s nursing program, I mentioned to the presenter that I had a student that would be a great fit at RMU. After discussion and Brianna applying to their school she was granted a full academic scholarship,” said science teacher Mr. Willus Vivian, “the really memorable part was RMU sent a representative to present Brianna her scholarship in class.”
