Bremen HS Student Takes 2nd Place at Midwest Media Education Association Video Festival

Cristian Cervantez won 2nd Place for his movie trailer 'Retribution'

Bremen High School District 228's Communication Arts and Technology students recently participated in the 24th Annual Midwest Media Education Association Video Festival (MMEA), hosted by Nequa Valley High School in Naperville, IL. Over 40 schools competed in 16 categories that were then judged by industry professionals. Bremen High School student Cristian Cervantez was awarded second place for his movie trailer “Retribution,” while Tinley Park High School students Katherine Kozlik, Emily Plummer, Kaleigh Urban and Cristina Robertson were awarded second place for their public service announcement "Texting & Driving." Communications Arts and Technology is a district-wide course that includes students from all four district schools, Bremen, Hillcrest, Oak Forest and Tinley Park High Schools and is taught by Bremen English Teacher Mr. Michael Lynch. The course produces monthly programs that are broadcasted on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. on Comcast Channel 4 or AT&T Channel 99 and on Fridays at 8 p.m. on Comcast channel 16 or AT&T channel 19.
